ALL of our interpreters are trained to follow the
ALS (uk) Ltd Interpreter Code Of Conduct. Key areas covered include confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality and behavioural protocol. This will ensure you receive a quality service by professional interpreters who will always adhere to 'best practice'.
ALS (uk) Ltd is an organisation committed to listening to what our clients want from us and responding by creating innovative solutions. We are delighted to be able to inform you of the success of our new
rapid-response interpreting service where, once initiated, we can have an interpreter on-site with you within the hour. This is achieved by creating a
bespoke database, built specifically for an individual site. We will compile a list of interpreters locally-based to your site, including those in all of the languages you normally require. They will be asked about their routines and when they are available, and this will be noted on their record - as of this point they are on call at these times. We can then call upon interpreters who we know to be available immediately after your request.
There is no extra charge to this service!
We have searched but as yet have been unable to find a service like this anywhere in the world, so, as far as we know, this is an industry-first!

rigorously assessed on their competencies in these areas by our certified assessors, and they will only be allocated to cases in their specialist fields.
The screening process for new applicants includes the following steps:
- Reference checks are made on interpreters with two previous employers.
- All interpreters are met for a face-face interview, involving our certified assessors, including an interpreting session role-play, specific to the specialist industry sector(s) the interpreter is applying for.
- All interpreters are screened with the Criminal Records Bureau.
- Original copies of all qualifications are required to be submitted at interview stage.
All recruits are provided with continuous, ongoing training and support to ensure that their skills are kept up to date and they are aware of any developments/relevant legislation in their industry sector(s).
Performance monitoring service:
To ensure the quality of our interpreting services is maintained at as high a standard as possible,
ALS (uk) Ltd employ a unique, computerised performance monitoring system on all of our interpreters / translators. Each time an interpreter attends a session, he/she takes with them a 'Job Sheet' with all of the details of the case on it. At the end of the session the client signs the Job Sheet to confirm the start and finish times of the session, along with the option of writing any comments on the service they have received from the interpreter, either positive or negative. These comments are logged and attached to the database record of the interpreter, with appropriate procedure taken in response to these comments. If an interpreter is deemed to be unsatisfactory, we will simply strike them from our records and not use them again.
